Resilience for Climbers with Kelly Reinhart

Mon 5:30PM - 6:30PM

Advanced Yoga-Resilience for Climbers is a vinyasa based class that will guide you through a flow that focuses on muscle groups critical to climbing. The goal will be to build strength, both physically and mentally, to increase resilience for climbing and beyond. Class will be focused on strength and intended for all skill levels. Please bring your own mat and feel free to bring blocks if you like to incorporate these into your practice. 

Recovery for Climbers with Kelly Reinhart

Thur 5:30PM - 6:30PM

Climbing often leaves us feeling sore in multiple areas around the body. In order to speed up recovery, this yoga class will be slow and steady with a focus on stretching out muscles commonly used during climbing sessions. Mindfulness and breath cues will be offered throughout the class to help with being present and strengthening the mind-body connection. Class will be focused on recovery and intended for all skill levels. Please bring your own mat and feel free to bring blocks if you like to incorporate these into your practice.

Stretch & Strengthen with Kayleen Sanchez

Tue 5:30PM - 6:30PM

This one hour class will enhance your mobility and strength for rock climbing while simultaneously aiding in the recovery of your joints. The beginning of the class will be aimed towards wrist mobility and recovery after settling into the body. We will then focus on building key climbing movements such as hip flexion, hip abduction, knee flexion, and ankle dorsiflexion; all of which are directly correlated with climbing ability. The peak of the class will be Budokon inspired animal movements that will strengthen and lengthen our bilateral motions while working towards creating a stable core. Not only do these Budokon inspired movements have physical benefits, but they train the mind equally as well. The end of the class will be a cool down that works directly to teach the students to slow their breathing and create a calm centered mind amidst physical output. By the end of class, we will have massaged our joints for recovery, strengthened necessary movement patterns for climbing, exercised our mind, and gained experience in working with our breath. The movement strategy from this class is based on Kayleen’s experience in her own practice and her research of movement patterns within several full body sports such as jiu jitsu.

Yoga Flow with Hannah Guidry

Sat 5:00PM - 6:00PM

“Push” yourself mentally and physically. Join in for an upbeat flow with creative transitions and opportunities for arm balances and handstands. Take things at your own pace or challenge yourself. Our goal will be to bring balance and strength to your practice- and have fun! Please bring a mat and a water bottle. 2 blocks & a strap are encouraged but optional.

Strength & Stability Training for Climbers with Evelynn Simmons

Sat 11:00AM - 12:00PM

This once a week strength training class is tailored to compliment the training for climbers of all levels for improvements in force generation without excessive hypertrophy. Movement patterns similar to what is encountered on the rock will be implemented (motor specificity). Upper-body pull, upper-body press and lower extremity multi-joint actions such as single-legged squat variations.

Fitness: Climbing Technique

This class is for climbers who are looking to improve their technique and efficiency on the wall. This class utilizes walls throughout the gym to demonstrate how to perform and utilize various techniques in rock climbing. In this class we will explore different rock hold types, terminology, as well as ways to train off the wall to improve climbing technique.
